When you copy and move stuff in a Steam folder does Steam expect it to be in the new location? I did see some poeple mention the game runs when they copy it to another folder. Maybe I have to reboot obsessively after each step?Ģ. Do a clean re-install of the game including the registry: How cna a fresh vanilla install crash like the heavily one did? I know the My Games folder is not to blame, I cleared it out.Īnyone else have this issue? I am thinking it is one of the following:ġ. Started it up abd BAM, same thing, crash. So I renamed my Oblivion folder back to Oblivion-BK and downloaded a fresh install of Oblivion from Steam. In the middle of all this I did go into the oblivion.ini and delete it so it would create a new one. I get the launcher but upon hitting play it crashes. Renamed Oblivion-BK back to Oblivion and now my heavily modded game no longer works. It loaded and worked good but I liked my mods better. For this install I installed the FCOM Superpack to see how it works compared to my other Oblivion-BK install. So I took the Oblivion folder and re-named it to Oblivion-BK and downloaded a new vanilla Oblivion to play with. I while back I did some serious modding and got it to run great. I am thinking this is a registry issue now.
